ZAGREB, April 24 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Friday decided to establish a State Commission for Victims of
History and War.
"A State Commission for Victims of History and War is being
established with the task of directing and coordinating the work of
Croatian Government bodies, scientific institutions as well as
humanitarian and other associations on the research of military and
civilian war victims of the Croatian people as a whole and the
entire population on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, from
the establishment of the Yugoslav state in 1918 and beyond,
especially in the period from WWII to the end of the Homeland War in
1995," the Resolution reads.
MP Nikica Valentic was appointed as chairman of the Commission and
the deputy chairman is Nedjeljko Mihanovic, who is also the
chairman of the Committee for Education, Science and Culture in the
House of Representatives.
The Commission has 13 members.
