OSIJEK, April 15 (Hina) - The remains of 19 victims of Serbian
aggression were discovered at the end of the first day of
exhumations on Wednesday in the eastern Croatian region of
Baranja.
Marko Milos said a mass grave was found in the Catholic cemetery in
Beli Manastir, in which the remains of five victims of Serb
aggression were found inside a coffin.
Inside the coffin were nylon bags containing the remains of skulls,
personal items and bones. It is believed these are the "remains of
bodies collected from various places", Milos said.
Also found at the Catholic cemetery in Beli Manastir was a grave
with three bodies and another two with two bodies each, while the
remaining bodies were found in individual graves. One body was
found in Tiborjanci.
All posthumous remains were taken to the court department of the
Osijek Clinical Hospital, where identification will take place
during the next two days.
Milos said 11 families had been notified in the identification
process, because it is believed the bodies of 11 victims can be
immediately identified.
