NEW ATLANTIC INITIATIVE HOLDS CONGRESS IN ISTANBUL

( Editorial: --> 0992 ) ANKARA, May 2 (Hina) - "Atlantic Community in 2012" is the main topic of Saturday's session of a congress of the New Atlantic Initiative, which started in Istanbul on Friday. The New Atlantic Initiative was founded in Prague in May 1996 by Vaclav Havel, Margaret Thatcher, Helmut Schmidt, Leszek Balcerowicz, Henry Kissinger and George Schulz. Participants in today's forum are discussing three possible forms of future organisation of NATO. The forum, which is aimed at promoting individual freedoms, market economy and democratic pluralism, is attended by a Croatian delegation, led by Croatian Ambassador to the United States, Miomir Zuzul.
