PRISTINA, April 28 (Hina) - Kosovo's Committee for the Protection
of Human Rights and Freedoms and the Independent Union of Kosovo's
Albanian Attorneys requested the Contact Group, which is to meet in
Rome on Wednesday, to undertake effective measures aimed at ceasing
the violence in Kosovo and solving the Kosovo issue.
In the letter forwarded to the Contact Group, the Kosovo Albanians
warned that the situation in Kosovo was becoming explosive after
Yugoslav army mlitary training operations had turned into a heavy
mass attack on the residents of villages in the Decani and Djakovica
municipalities.
The Kosovo Albanians claim that large numbers of Yugoslav military
and police troops were pooling on the border with Albania.
Kosovo's Committee for the Protection of Human rights and Freedoms
and the Independent Union of Kosovo's Albanian Attorneys called on
the Contact Group to make Wednesday's decisions in Rome in
accordance to the difficult situation in Kosovo.
"Your decisions can save the Albanian people in Kosovo from great
dangers they are faced with," the letter said.
