VUKOVAR, Mar 29 (Hina) - The United States President's special
envoy for the implementation of the peace agreement in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Robert Gelbard, Sunday visited the eastern Croatian
town of Vukovar.
Accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Robert Montgomery,
Gelbard met with Serb Democratic Independent Party president
Vojislav Stanimirovic and Joint Council of (Serb majority)
Municipalities president Milos Vojnovic.
Talks focused on the implementation of the Erdut agreement on the
reintegration of eastern Croatia, the peaceful reintegration
process, the Amnesty Law and, according to Serb representatives,
the lately frequent incidents in the area.
Around noon, the American delegation began a meeting at the
building of the city authorities with members of the Croatian
government's National Trust Establishment Committee chaired by
Vesna Skare-Ozbolt.
Upon entering the city authorities building, Gelbard was met by
members of Apel, a centre for the protection of rights of detained
and missing Croatian citizens and their families, who handed him
an album with 800 photographs and brief biographies of the detained
and missing, as well as a video tape shot in a Vukovar hospital on
the eve of the town's fall under the Serb aggression.
