VUKOVAR, Mar 10 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian Government
and 56 companies Tuesday signed agreements worth US$63 million on
the reconstruction of 1,700 houses in Vukovar-Srijem County,
eastern Croatia.
The houses in question suffered heavy damage or were completely
demolished during the Serbian aggression on Croatia.
According to Reconstruction and Development Minister Jure Radic,
half the companies with which agreements have been signed are local
construction companies.
In Vukovar 600 houses will be built, 180 in Bogdanovci, 150 in
Tordinci, 130 in Marinci, 50 in Tompojevci, 170 in Tovarnik and
Ilaca, 190 in Djeletovci, and 80 in Ilok and Sarengrad.
The Croatian Government will invest more than US$300 million in the
reconstruction of the Danube river region part of Vukovar-Srijem
County.
