SERBIAN STUDENTS IN KOSOVO STAGE PROTEST

( Editorial: --> 2806 ) PRISTINA, Mar 27 (Hina) - More than 1,000 Serbian students and Kosovo Serbs Friday staged a protest in front of the Faculty of Arts building in Pristina against an attempt to normalise Albanian courses in the southern Yugoslav province. Demonstrators told the authorities not to try to negotiate on the future of Kosovo without the agreement of Kosovo Serbs. They accused the authorities of using force to prevent students from Nis in taking part in the Pristina demonstrations. The demonstrators paid homage to policemen killed during the Pristina demonstrations, saying they had been the victims of Albanian terrorism. During today's protest, a strong police force monitored the gathering, especially the administration building, which has lately been the centre of resistance to Serbian authorities' endeavours to implement an agreement on the unconditional return of Kosovo Albanians to schools and universities.
