WESTENDORP INFORMS PRESIDENT TUDJMAN OF PROBLEMS IN BOSNIA

( Editorial: --> 4286 ) ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Hina) - The international community's High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carlos Westendorp, on Tuesday met Croatian President Franjo Tudjman in Zagreb to discuss the situation in that country. Westendorp informed Tudjman of problems with the functioning of the Muslim-Croat Federation and the peace process in Bosnia- Herzegovina, said Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, who participated in the talks. Problems included the return of refugees, the functioning of local police, applying the results of local elections, transportation along the Sava River and other issues, Granic added. "We are concerned with the behaviour of several individuals who are blocking the peaceful application of the Dayton agreements," Westendorp said. "The situation is very bad in Drvar (western Bosnia), Capljina and above all in Stolac (both southern Bosnia-Herzegovina) where the mayor does not want to comply with the Dayton agreements. "Therefore we have asked the Croatian authorities to find his replacement." (Hina) mm mb 241644 MET feb 98
