ZAGREB, 30 Jan (Hina) - Croatian laws regulated in the areas of
maritime affairs, transport and communications were coordinated
with European legislation and international standards.
And this opened the way to foreign investors, Croatian Maritime
Affairs, Transportation and Communications Minister Zeljko
Luzavec said on Friday.
For decades Croatia fell behind in developing its transportation
system, then the aggression on Croatia caused great material
damage, and today foreign capital is necessary for the renewal of
transport, Luzavec said at a press conference held in Zagreb.
He emphasised that Croatia had a good position, and illustrated
this with the fact that several European transport corridors passed
through Croatia.
The Croatian minister said transportation development and road
network strategies for Croatia would be delivered in the first half
of this year.
Luzavec announced privatisation of parts of the telecommunications
sector in accordance with the best European practices.
