SMOKVICA/KORCULA, Dec 28 (Hina) - Croatia's Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications, Ivan Pavlovic, and the head of the Smokvica municipality on the island of Korcula, Tonci Kunjasic, on Tuesday signed a contract on
the construction of an airport. Pavlovic said the airport "Brne", the construction of which has already started, would be completed by the end of 2000. The runway will be 1,400 metres long and ATR-42 BRG planes with 70 seats and 'Focker' planes with up to 100 seats will be able to land at the airport. The construction and equipment of the airport, which will cost some 100 million kuna, will be financed by the state.(hina) mm rml
