FOREIGN DECORATIONS BESTOWED UPON LATE CROATIAN PRESIDENT

ZAGREB, Dec 12 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman was the recipient of six foreign decorations. Italy's President Francesco Cossiga honoured Croatia's president with the high state order of the "Knight of the Great Cross", in Zagreb on January 17, 1992. Chilean President Eduardo Frei decorated President Tudjman with the state honours to the Order of the Great Cross credits for Chile - "Orden Gran Cruz al merito de Chile". This was bestowed upon the President in Chile November 29, 1994. Argentinean President Carlos Menem decorated Croatian President Franjo Tudjman with high state honours - Great Chain with the Decoration of San Martin - "Collar de la Orden del Libertador San Martin", in Buenos Aires December 1, 1994. The President of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin, honoured President Tudjman with high state honours - "The Medal of Georgiy Konstantinovic Zukov" which was bestowed upon him for deserves and contributions to the anti-fascist struggle. The decoration was delivered by Russia's Ambassador to Croatia Leonyd Kerestedziyants in Zagreb, November 4, 1996. Greek President Konstantin Stefanopulos decorated Croatia's president with high state honours with the Order of the "Great Cross of the Hellenic Republic", in Athens, November 23, 1998. Turkey's President Suleyman Demirel decorated President Tudjman with the highest Turkish state decoration, the "Turkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Nisani". (hina) sp
