GOVT ADOPTS PROGRAMME OF FINANCIAL REORGANISATION OF 'TISAK'

ZAGREB, Dec 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday adopted a programme of financial and business reorganisation of the printing house 'Tisak d.d.' from Zagreb, the Government Public Relations Office said in a statement. The Government decided to give state guarantees to domestic and foreign banks for granting loans to Tisak d.d., as well as recommendations on the writing-off of claims and their transfer to the State Agency for Savings Insurance and the Rehabilitation of Banks. Apart from other conclusions on the re-scheduling of the company's debts, all other conditions have been secured for the successful operation of this joint stock company whose majority owner, with an 88.7 per cent share, the state has become, the statement said. Freezing their strike announced for yesterday, Tisak's strikers' committee and Coordination of Unions said they would go on strike if a government decision on the rehabilitation of Tisak was not submitted to them by noon today.
