ZAGREB, Dec 22 (Hina) - Croatia's external debt totalled 9.26 billion U.S. dollars, according to the situation at the end of September, read December's bulletin issued by the Croatian National Bank (HNB). This debt, expressed in line
with the mean rate of exchange of the HNB, rose by about 1.4 percent (or 134 million dollars) from August to September. The foreign debt rose by nine percent or 774 million dollars this September versus December 1998. As regards the structure of the debt, medium-term and long-term debts make up 87.7 percent of the total foreign debt. Short-term external debts amounted 1.14 billion dollars (12.3 percent of the total Croatian external debt).(hina) ms
