ZAGREB, Dec 22 (Hina) - Croatia's National Electoral Commission will issue on Thursday mandatory instructions on the sequence of electoral activities and deadlines for presidential elections, and forms for the January 24 elections.
Speaking to the press in Zagreb on Wednesday, Commission chairman Marijan Ramuscak said the period for the submission of presidential candidatures began in the first minutes of December 25 and ended at midnight on January 5. Every candidate must have the support in writing of a minimum of 10,000 citizens, he reminded. Asked if blank signatures could be collected for candidatures, Ramuscak said the legislation does not mention them. It is logical however that a voter will not sign a blank form because in that case they would not know for a fact for whom they were voting, he asserted. permission for their holding on January 2 and 3. Permission from the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has not arrived yet and unless it
does until midnight today, Croatian citizens will not be able to
vote on Yugoslav territory, he said.
