POSSIBLE CHANGES IN CROATIA WON'T JEOPARDISE POSITION OF HDZ BIH - OFFICIAL

SARAJEVO, Dec 8 (Hina) - A possible change of authority in Croatia will not jeopardise the relationship Croatia has had so far with Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, said the secretary-general of the Croatian Democratic Union in Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), Marko Tokic, on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters in Sarajevo, Tokic said he believed the government of the "right centre" would stay in power after the January 3 elections in Croatia, but even if it did not happen, that would not affect relations between Zagreb and the Bosnian Croats. "Regardless of election results in Croatia, the HDZ BiH will certainly win the municipal elections to be held in Bosnia- Herzegovina in spring", said Tokic. Tokic criticised the election law proposed by the OSCE Mission, which is being debated. The law, which should be applied in the general elections in autumn of 2000, is an attempt to unobservedly change the internal organisation of the country and jeopardise the equal status of its three peoples, especially with regard to the election of members to the state Presidency. Tokic also accused the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) of trying to 'privatise' Bosnia-Herzegovina by claiming all the credit for the defence and survival of the country. (hina) rml
