HDZ PRESENTS 'ELECTION GLOSSARY'

ZAGREB, Nov 17 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party on Wednesday presented the "HDZ Election Glossary" which, according to the party secretary-general Drago Krpina, should serve as a framework for public appearances by HDZ members during the election campaign. Krpina said he hoped the President of the Republic would by the end of this week call the elections, scheduled for December 22. Emphasising that Premier Matesa today visited President Tudjman in hospital, Krpina said it was yet another sign the President was recuperating successfully. The HDZ secretary-general dismissed claims about statutory obstacles to calling a session of the party presidency. The situation in the party is very stable and there are no conflicts, he said. "There will always be insinuations and speculations about an internal party struggle for positions. The HDZ leadership is made up of serious people", Krpina said. Presenting the HDZ election glossary, Krpina said it was not a secret document, neither was it a party programme but rather a reference book which was drawn up by most of the party leading officials. The purpose of the publication is to provide HDZ candidates with precise information, Krpina added. (hina) mm rml
