TUZLA, Dec 10 (Hina) - Leaflets-obituaries bearing the picture of
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman appeared on several locations in
the north-eastern Bosnian town of Tuzla on Thursday.
The obituaries, bearing no name or surname, with a five-pointed red
star, report, in an extremely insulting manner, using vulgar
language, on the alleged death of President Tudjman, naming the
place and time of the burial.
The President of the Croat-Muslim Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Ivo Andric Luzanski, who is also a representative in
the Tuzla Canton Assembly, Croatia's consul-general in Tuzla,
Davorin Zagorscak, and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ)
municipal committee in Soli most strongly condemned this act.
Luzanski told reporters the leaflet was the continuation of
constant media pressure Croatia and the Croatian Government had
been exposed to in the last couple of months. This happens in a town
which has been undeservedly named a multiethnic and multicultural
town of tolerance by the international community, he said.
Consul Zagorscak asked town and canton authorities to urgently
explain the background of the incident.
The information service of the Tuzla Canton Interior Ministry said
the police had received no official reports about the appearance or
distribution of the leaflets and therefore had not initiated an
investigation.
