ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - President of the Croatian National
Parliament and stand-in president of the republic, Vlatko
Pavletic, on Friday visited President Tudjman in hospital and met
members of the President's doctors' team.
Pavletic told reporters he had come to have a word with the doctors'
consultation.
The talks were exhaustive and I could only establish what we all
already know, that the team is composed to guarantee the best care
for the President and his recuperation which has been going on for a
long time after surgery, Pavletic said.
It is a battle being fought by doctors with the help of all medicinal
means and as you can see, it is still going on, and while it is, we can
say nothing is lost.
"I saw the President, but we did not communicate as it is morning and
he is resting," Pavletic said.
"Everything certain media in the world and the country are
speculating is what they are expecting and wishing for, and is not
the true situation," he said.
Expressing commendation and gratitude to members of the
President's medical team, Pavletic said he was convinced the
doctors were carrying out a great battle for the live of the
president through their powers and dedication.
Asked if there was any new information about the President's health
condition since the last statement issued by the doctors'
consultation, Pavletic answered negatively, adding all important
information was available to the public.
Details about his health, which sometimes change from hour to hour
and from day to day, are not necessary to the public, nor do they
significantly affect further great efforts of all doctors to win
this battle, Pavletic said.
