ZAGREB, Nov 27 (Hina) - Acting Croatian President Vlatko Pavletic on Friday evening denied claims made by British news agency Reuters, reading that in an interview with Reuters reporters Pavletic stressed his first move would be to
dismantle the autocratic system of rule that Tudjman has built over the last decade.

As for the text released by Reuters, it is, as well as a series of
similar situations in which individuals were denigrated,
calculated to create a confusion.
During the interview there was no mention of anything which would
lead us to imagine something like that let alone that something like
that could be proved with the tape of the conversation", Pavletic
told the Croatian Television news programme of "Motrista".
"The interview was about the current situation, I said that the
passing of the Constitutional law enabled the development of the
political and economic life in Croatia, in line with the
Constitution and all laws", Pavletic stressed.
According to him, the interview was also about the upcoming
elections which are going to be "regular, fair, and democratic, and
multi-party commissions as well as international commissions will
be able to monitor the elections".
"There was another question about HDZ's expectations. I said that
the HDZ definitely expected success at the elections", Pavletic
concluded.
