PASALIC: HDZ'S PREPARATIONS FOR ELECTIONS PROCEEDING WELL

ZAGREB, Nov 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) Committee for inter-party and security issues and a coordination of HDZ county committees on Saturday considered duties which are to be carried out by HDZ election headquarters in constituencies. Preparations are proceeding in a very good and organised manner and there are no problems whatsoever in that regard, the committee's head Ivic Pasalic said. #L# Pasalic added there had been no talks on HDZ vice-presidents' electing the first vice-president. Pasalic also said yesterday's session of the Presidential Council addressed the appropriate forms of functioning of the state authority, as well as of party bodies, i.e., the HDZ Presidency. Speaking about the election day, Pasalic confirmed the HDZ was sticking to the already known dates, that is, to the previously given announcements in principle. "We expect it will be possible to hold the elections on December 22 and our preparations are proceeding in that direction", Pasalic said. There has been no new information on the condition of President Franjo Tudjman, except for what the President's doctors' team has already stated today, Pasalic said. (hina) rml
