ZAGREB, Nov 3 (Hina) - The Croatian National Sabor's House of Representatives on Wednesday failed to adopt a so-called "Women's Amendment" to the new electoral law, which would ensure greater representation of women on lists of
candidates, as well as in the newly convened House of Representatives. The 'Women's Amendment', composed by a women's ad hoc coalition, was proposed to the Lower House by two female representatives of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS). Vladimir Seks of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) explained that the amendment could not be adopted. Seks, however recommended that parties include at least three women in their list of candidates. According to him, the first candidate should be put up in one of the first four places on the list, the second candidate should be put up in one of the second four places, and the third candidate should be put up in one of the third four places on the
