ZAGREB, Oct 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament House of Representatives pronounced November 18 Memorial Day for Vukovar 1991. This will be the day to commemorate all participants of the defence of Vukovar, the symbol of Croatia's
freedom. On that date in 1991, former Yugoslav army troops followed by rebel Croatian Serbs entered Vukovar which had by then been levelled to the ground during a three-month siege. The entrance into the town was followed by mass murders of civilians and the wounded from Vukovar's hospital, and the deportation of non-Serbs. The Lower House on Friday afternoon adopted a report on the work of an electoral commission to determine the circumstances and guilt of state and political bodies of the former Socialist Republic of Croatia for taking weapons from the Territorial defence until May 30, 1990.
