Croatia's President Franjo Tudjman on Monday morning placed a
wreath at the Altar of Homeland at Mt. Medvednica overlooking
Zagreb.
"On All Saints' Day, I laid a wreath in memory of all who lived,
suffered, died and gave their lives in order that the Croatian
people could survive and establish their free and independent
state," President Tudjman wrote in the visitors' book.
Tudjman was accompanied by the National Sabor's President Vlatko
Pavletic, Premier Zlatko Matesa, Tudjman's chief-of-staff Ivica
Kostovic, the House of Counties' President Katica Ivanisevic,
Defence Minister Pavao Miljavac, Interior Minister Ivan Penic, the
Croatian Army's headquarters' chief-of-staff Vice Admiral Davor
Domazet and Zagreb Mayor Marina Matulovic-Dropulic.
