and Sabor President Vlatko Pavletic presented the Lower House a 44-item agenda. The agenda focuses on topics related to the upcoming elections. The ruling Croatian Democratic Party (HDZ) has sent into parliamentary procedure the final drafts of the election law and the law on electoral units, as well as a proposal on programme rules of Croatian Radio Television for covering the elections.The Parliament is expected to discuss the election bill and HRT rules on Wednesday (October 27), whereas a debate on the bill on electoral units is expected to take place next day. parliamentary procedure the final drafts of the election law and
the law on electoral units, as well as a proposal on programme rules
of Croatian Radio Television for covering the elections.
The Parliament is expected to discuss the election bill and HRT
rules on Wednesday (October 27), whereas a debate on the bill on
electoral units is expected to take place next day.
The House of Representatives is also expected to adopt a decision on
the appointment of Constitutional Court judges. Eight candidates
for the posts of Constitutional Court judges should be suggested to
the House of Representatives by the House of Counties, which is to
convene early next week (October 18/19) for its 34th session.
Several reports have been submitted to the Lower House, including a
report by a parliamentary commission of inquiry in charge of
investigating the circumstances under which the weapons of the
Croatian Territorial Defence had been confiscated in the period
prior to May 30, 1990.
The Lower House is also to discuss a proposal by Ivan Gabelica of the
Croatian Pure Party of Rights (HCSP) regarding a discussion on the
Stability Pact for South-East Europe and the Agreement on Borders
between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Representatives of the "Opposition Four" - Trconic, Tukic, Kajin,
and Bijelic have sent into parliamentary procedure a bill on
returning the state debt to pensioners.
Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) MPs proposed a bill on removing the
consequences of the totalitarian communist regime (the so-called
lustration law).
