NEW YORK, Oct 24 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian-American Chamber of Commerce (HAGK) on Saturday and Sunday held meetings in New York with the president of the Croatian Privatisation Fund, the aim of which was to discuss
possibilities of economic cooperation with Croatia, particularly the course of privatisation. About 70 businessmen from the New York area who are part of the HAGK were especially interested in privatisation in tourism and the privatisation of public companies. They also held talks on privatisation with George von Eltz, the representative of one Croatian privatisation fund. Members of the HAGK gave a positive assessment to the possibility of purchasing shares of companies listed in the Privatisation and Investment Fund portfolio at the market price which is 20 percent of the nominal price. NEW YORK, Oct 24 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian-American Chamber
of Commerce (HAGK) on Saturday and Sunday held meetings in New York
with the president of the Croatian Privatisation Fund, the aim of
which was to discuss possibilities of economic cooperation with
Croatia, particularly the course of privatisation.
About 70 businessmen from the New York area who are part of the HAGK
were especially interested in privatisation in tourism and the
privatisation of public companies.
They also held talks on privatisation with George von Eltz, the
representative of one Croatian privatisation fund.
Members of the HAGK gave a positive assessment to the possibility of
purchasing shares of companies listed in the Privatisation and
Investment Fund portfolio at the market price which is 20 percent of
the nominal price.
HAGK president Ante Kusturic said excellent relations had been
established with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry
of Economy since the establishment of the HAGK last March. Special
credit goes to the Croatian General Consulate in New York, he
added.
The HAGK management would like to stage five or six annual meetings
with Croatian government officials, businessmen, and experts, to
discuss the most important issues in Croatia's economy.
