ZAGREB, Sept 28 (Hina) - Contrary to announcements, the Croatian Government did not on Tuesday reach a decision on Swedish-Norwegian consortium Telia/Telenor's bid for the purchase of 35 percent of shares of telecommunications company
Hrvatske Telekomunikacije (HT). Discussing the privatisation of the company, the Government concluded "it lacks elements necessary to make a decision," and that "the session will resume tomorrow afternoon," Government PR Igor Mrduljas told reporters. The Commission for the Privatisation of HT was submitted on 23 September one bid, that of Telia/Telenor which, as was then pointed out, met the required criteria. Telia/Telenor offered US$611 million for 35 percent of HT's shares, whereas Germany's Deutsche Telekom made no offer in spite of its participation in the bidding procedure since the very beginning.(hina) ha jn
