SARAJEVO, Oct 13 (Hina) - The army of the Croat-Muslim Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina will by the end of this year reduce its armed forces by 6,750 members, Sarajevo's "Dnevni avaz" daily reported on Wednesday. The reduction will be
based on a decision by the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina on cutting the country's armed forces by 15 per cent. Those active army members who are to be laid off include 4,500 Bosniaks and 2,250 Croats. The status of some of them would be solved through retirement. In line with recommendations adopted by the Standing Committee for Military Issues in Bosnia-Herzegovina at a session on Tuesday, the Federation army should by the end of this year disband 20 battalions - 15 with Bosniak and five with Croat members, whereas the Bosnian Serb army should disband 10 battalions.
