SARAJEVO, Oct 11 (Hina) - Between six and eight thousand foreigners were given Bosnian citizenship during the conflict in the country earlier this decade, Bosnian Foreign Minister told Bosnian news agency ONASA in an interview carried
by Sarajevo media on Monday. Prlic said citizenship was granted mostly to people from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, namely its region of Sandzak. A considerably smaller number of persons was granted citizenship after the signing of the Dayton peace agreements in 1995, and only one became a citizen of Bosnia-Herzegovina since a new law regulating the process of naturalisation came into force. Prlic said a special commission set up to inspect the manner in which citizenship was granted met only once.
