Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday opposed the decision
by the Office of the High Representative (OHR) according to which
police officers in all cantons have to wear the same insignia.
The decision was nevertheless adopted following a reply by the OHR
saying it would be implemented regardless of the vote of Croat
officials.
The decision was commented on last night by the Federation
President Ivo Andric Luzanski, who was on a visit to the central
Bosnian town Kiseljak, where members of the Croatian Democratic
Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) parliamentary bench at the
Federation House of People were holding a session.
"The decision is not in line with the Federation Constitution and
laws, because it is clear that it is within the jurisdiction of
cantons and cantonal interior ministries. Croats will nevertheless
observe this decision, which was practically adopted by the Office
of the High Representative... but we have warned that we find it
unacceptable", said Luzanski.
