SARAJEVO, Sept 1 (Hina) - Sarajevo police on Wednesday attempted to arrest and bring before the court the editor-in-chief of the Sarajevo magazine "Dani", Senad Pecanin, who was sued by the Libyan leader Moamer el Gadafi for slander.
The editorial board of "Dani" issued a statement saying the police had explained their failed attempt to arrest Pecanin with a civil suit filed against Pecanin by Gadafi and the Libyan Embassy in Sarajevo with a Sarajevo court. The suit refers to the criminal act of libel and offence in an article published in "Dani". The editorial board reminds in its statement that the possibility of criminal prosecution of journalists in Bosnia-Herzegovina under these charges has been annulled by a decision of the former High Representative Carlos Westendorp.
