PRISTINA, Sept 7 (Hina) - A police academy which will prepare the future security forces in Kosovo officially began operating in Vucitrn, 30km north-west of Pristina, on Tuesday. The first attendants include 200 candidates aspiring to
become Kosovo police officers; among them Albanians make 83 percent, Serbs 13 percent, and four percent goes to members of other ethnic communities. The police academy was inaugurated by Steve Bennet, the academy's first manager. Also in attendance was the chief of the international police force in Kosovo, Sven Fredrikson. The academy will eventually train between 3,500 and 4,000 Kosovo policemen, who for a time will work together with international police forces.(hina) ha jn
