BOSNIAN SERBS WILL NOT BOYCOTT PERMANENT MILITARY COMMISSION

SARAJEVO, Sept 14 (Hina) - Representatives of Bosnian Serb authorities promised to end the boycott of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Permanent Military Commission, spokeswoman of the Office of High Representative Alexandra Stiglmayer told reporters in Sarajevo on Tuesday. After the arrest of General Momir Talic, a war crime suspect, Bosnian Serbs refused to take part in the Commission. Senior officials of Republika Srpska, the Bosnian Serb entity, in Banja Luka on Monday gave the promise to the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Wolfgang Petritsch, the main Commander of the Stabilisation Force, General Montgomery Meigs, and the head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Robert Barry. Stiglmayer stressed that best example of Republika Srpska's readiness for the implementation of the Dayton Agreement would be its participation in joint authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Permanent Military Commission is the only body at the state level in which representatives of two entities negotiate about different forms of defence cooperation and cooperation between armies of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
