ZAGREB, Aug 31 (Hina) - The European Union has not discussed to date
relations with Croatia relative to the dispute between Zagreb and
The Hague and has not sent any letter of warning, the head for
Croatia at the European Commission Department for Southeast
Europe, Rosamaria Gili, told Hina on Tuesday.#L#
Gili said that according to their information, neither the European
Union nor the European Commission have officially sent anything to
Croatia yet.
She denied an article in Croatian daily Vecernji List which stated
that a letter of warning had been sent to Zagreb from Brussels on
Monday.
Gili said she herself had been surprised at the article, pointing
out she would certainly know if a letter of that kind had been sent.
Gili also told Hina the European Commission has not yet discussed
its relations with Croatia in the wake of recent tensions between
Croatia and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former
Yugoslavia in The Hague.
The tribunal's president, Gabrielle Kirk McDonald, last week
reported Croatia to the United Nations Security Council for non-
cooperation with the tribunal.
The issue will be discussed this or next week, Gili said, pointing
out this was the reason why to date there has been no official
statement about EU-Croatian relations.
