SARAJEVO, Sept 14 (Hina) - A Bosnian official told the Tuesday edition of Sarajevo daily "Dnevni Avaz" that recent Croatian demands on alterations to the borderline between southernmost Croatia and Bosnia lacked all foundation. The
borderline in the Neum and Klek peninsula area was established on the basis of full agreement between representatives of the two countries, said the chairman of the Bosnian part of a Croatian-Bosnian diplomatic commission for borders, Mugdim Cukle. Cukle assessed as unclear the demands of Dubrovnik-Neretva County in southernmost Croatia and some political circles in Croatia for alterations to the borderline which would give the entire Klek peninsula to Croatia. "The documentation is not on their side. They can consult with experts from the Split (Croatia) Hydrographic Institute which set the border in that area," Cukle told "Dnevni Avaz". SARAJEVO, Sept 14 (Hina) - A Bosnian official told the Tuesday
edition of Sarajevo daily "Dnevni Avaz" that recent Croatian
demands on alterations to the borderline between southernmost
Croatia and Bosnia lacked all foundation.
The borderline in the Neum and Klek peninsula area was established
on the basis of full agreement between representatives of the two
countries, said the chairman of the Bosnian part of a Croatian-
Bosnian diplomatic commission for borders, Mugdim Cukle.
Cukle assessed as unclear the demands of Dubrovnik-Neretva County
in southernmost Croatia and some political circles in Croatia for
alterations to the borderline which would give the entire Klek
peninsula to Croatia.
"The documentation is not on their side. They can consult with
experts from the Split (Croatia) Hydrographic Institute which set
the border in that area," Cukle told "Dnevni Avaz".
Cukle said that the municipal borders of Neum, Bosnia's only access
to the Adriatic Sea which cuts through southernmost Croatia, were
established on the basis of surveys done in 1974 and land books of
the municipality of Capljina, Bosnia.
The Bosnian official confirmed the villages of Topolo, Imotica, and
Stedrica belong to Croatia, denying allegations in some Croatian
papers that they were annexed to Bosnia.
According to the reached agreement, Stedrica is 2.5km inside
Croatian territory, Topolo 1.5km, and Imotica one km.
