president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) Nenad Vidosevic said at the informal meeting of presidents of Eastern European chambers of commerce on the Stability Pact in Ljubljana on Wednesday. Vidosevic believes that the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe "will develop very fast, particularly the part which refers to economy, and this is where Croatia has its chance and needs to take advantage of it". LJUBLJANA, Sept 1 (Hina) - Southeastern European chambers of
commerce must fight for the opening of borders and faster
development of cooperation, but with the support of the European
Union and its developing institutions, president of the Croatian
Chamber of Commerce (HGK) Nenad Vidosevic said at the informal
meeting of presidents of Eastern European chambers of commerce on
the Stability Pact in Ljubljana on Wednesday.
Vidosevic believes that the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe
"will develop very fast, particularly the part which refers to
economy, and this is where Croatia has its chance and needs to take
advantage of it". According to him, Croatian ports, the sea, and
power supply infrastructure, also have an important role.
The HGK president agreed with conclusions from the meeting in
Ljubljana, according to which, the cooperation needs to be
supported by more efficient exchange of information, joint
business projects, and by simplifying regulations which will
enable better flow of, goods, services, and people.
Vidosevic pointed to a different level of development among certain
parts of Southeast Europe. He said that Slovenia's gross national
product was 12 times bigger than the Albanian.
Vidosevic added that Croatia was interested in the reconstruction
of the southern Yugoslav province of Kosovo. He said that a
representative of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce would visit
Croatia.
The next meeting is scheduled for mid October and it is to be held in
Skopje or Tirana.
