SANADER TO ATTEND EUROPEAN JOURNALISTS' ASSOCIATION CONGRESS

ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader on Sunday departed for Berlin where between September 13 and 15 he will attend the 37th Congress of the European Journalists' Association at the latter's request. The Congress will be divided into four forums, of which the first will deal with the main topic, namely the expansion of the European Union (EU). The other forums will tackle issues relative to the EU expansion process, primarily its economic and financial aspects, as well as problems faced by youth in Europe, and the media. According to a statement from the Croatian Foreign Ministry, on the first day of the Congress, Sanader will outline Croatia's position regarding the expansion of the EU. The deputy foreign minister will also speak about the current state of affairs between Croatia and the EU, with special emphasis on Croatia's interest for a more intense participation in EU's expansion process. Besides journalists from Europe, the Congress will also be attended by numerous European politicians and diplomats. Sanader is expected to conduct several bilateral meetings, and meet representatives of the Croat community in Berlin. (hina) ha
