Hegyi, who is a member of the Council of Europe's culture and education council, is preparing a report on the position of Croatian media, especially regarding the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Croatia. He was especially interested in the problem of monopoly in the printing and distribution of Croatian newspapers and weeklies, the issue of political influence and manipulation of editorial policy by the ruling party, the means of receiving radio and television frequencies and the position and ownership structure of the media taking into consideration the upcoming elections.(hina) lml
