SARAJEVO, Sept 2 (Hina) - The UN Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina chief, Jacques Klein, announced the United Nations would provide full support to all international and Bosnian institutions participating in the fight against corruption
in the country. Spokesman for the UN Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Douglas Hoffman, said Thursday he had relayed this message to the United States Ambassador at the UN, Richard Holbrooke, after a meeting in Sarajevo earlier in the day. It is Klein's assessment that the international community should have an increased presence in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the UN Mission would especially concentrate on strengthening the role of local police and judiciary whose participation in the fight against organised crime is crucial. Holbrooke was also told that the UN Mission to Bosnia-Herzegovina had lost no money from its funds due to corruption.(hina) lml
