Their vacation in this Adriatic city was organised by the Croatian government, as part of a programme adopted by the Croatian government on 9 June about humanitarian assistance to Japanese areas hit by a disastrous quake and tsunami in March.
We have also offered some financial assistance, as much as we could, and expressed willingness to organise rehabilitation of some people from Japan here, if necessary, Kosor said.
Voicing her hope that the vacation in Croatia would help the Japanese children to overcome traumas caused by the recent disasters, the PM Kosor also presented them with videos of cartoons series about Professor Balthazar, an old inventor. The cartoon for children was created by Croatian animator Zlatko Grgic at the Zagreb Film studio.
Thanking PM Kosor for the organisation of the children's holidays in Split, Japanese Ambassador to Croatia, Yoshio Tamura, said he was confident that the children would come back to Japan with enduring impressions and memories of Croatia.
The children told reporters that they were enjoying bathing in the Adriatic Sea where they said there were more fish than in Japan.
