The public relations' office has released a statement on this topic in response to a commentary piece issued by the Jutarnji List daily on Friday which problematised the premier's visit to Kosovo.
On 24 August, PM Kosor will pay an official visit to Pristina at the invitation of her counterpart Hashim Thaci and give an opening speech at a Kosovo-Croatian business forum in Pristina. She will also tour the ethnic Croat community in Janjevo.
According to the practice of European parliamentary democracies, on this occasion PM Kosor will also meet Croatian soldiers in the international Kosovo Force mission, the office added.
The government's public relations office recalls that in line with the Croatian Constitution and laws, the President of the Republic of Croatia is the Armed Forces' supreme commander. However, in peacetime he commands, exclusively via the relevant ministry in the government, the armed forces, which is in compliance with NATO standards, it added.
The Croatian government will continue promoting a policy harmonised with Croatia's allies in NATO and the European Union, supporting peace and stability in Kosovo and respecting the rights of ethnic minorities and the territorial integrity of Kosovo, the office said, among other things.
