ZADAR COUNTY PREFECT SEEKS ASSISTANCE FROM GOVERNMENT ZADAR, Aug 26 (Hina) - Zadar County Prefect Sime Prtenjaca on Wednesday forwarded the Government and Economy Ministry a letter seeking assistance for the "Brodoremont" company in Kali on the island of Ugljan. As noted in the letter, this company is of vital significance to Zadar County's economy and for the existence of the islands in this part of the Adriatic. Due to difficulties, the company's production was disturbed in 1995 and in 1996 the company was taken into consideration for rehabilitation. This produces some results however, Prefect Prtenjaca explained that during the rehabilitation process some unexpected problems on the market and as such the company's account is now blocked at the Payment Transactions Agency in Zadar. "It is clear that "Brodoremont" is in need of additional assistance from the Economy Ministry and Croatian Government", notes Prtenjac's letter to the Government.
