WASHINGTON, Aug 18 (Hina) - The United States on Tuesday approved an additional US$5 million to be granted to the International Tribunal for War Crimes Committed in the Region of the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY). A decision signed by
President Bill Clinton notes that the Defence Ministry would be granted US$5 million for "services and business", to be conducted by the ICTY. The funds are to be used "to speed up justice in the trial against genocide and other violations agaisnt international humanitarian law". Even though the president did not clearly state that this assistance is attended for crimes committed on Kosovo the money will partially be used to analyse the data obtained by the Pentagon during the recent Kosovo crisis.
