ZAGREB, Aug 4 (Hina) - No one of the seven trade unions-parties to the Collective Agreement regulating the 1999 salary policy appeared at Wednesday's meeting, called yesterday by the Independent Union of Secondary School Teachers. The
Independent Union is the only union of civil servants which is not a signatory to the Collective Agreement on the salary policy in 1999. This is why the unions and the Government decided to call a referendum in secondary schools so that teachers could decide for themselves whether they wanted the Agreement to also apply to secondary schools, thus gaining a guaranteed salary rise.
