OGULIN, July 31 (Hina) - Latest floods caused severe damage in the town of Ogulin and Karlovac County. Therefore the Croatian government will make a decision next week about urgent assistance to the flood-stricken area of Ogulin (90
kilometres south-west of Zagreb), said a Vice Premier, Ljerka Mintas Hodak, during Saturday's visit to this town. County Prefect Vlado Jelkovac and Ogulin Mayor Ivan Vucic informed Mintas Hodak of consequences of the flood caused by heavy rains and after the Dobra river and its tributaries burst their banks. They also spoke about measures for recovering the area. The Dobra river is withdrawing slowly back to its bed just about five centimetres per hour. Residential areas near the river are being faced with power blackouts and telephone lines have been cut.
