ZAGREB, July 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Thursday discussed circumstances of last weekend's collapse in the ferry service linking the mainland with the island of Pag, the Government Media and Public Relations Office said in
a statement today. Based on reports submitted by the Ministries of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications; Tourism; and Interior Affairs, and the Croatian Road Management, State Inspectorate and the Croatian Tourism Board, and following an extensive debate on all circumstances, the Government has established that the traffic collapse was caused by bad weather conditions and failures for which responsibility rests with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications, Croatian Road Management and the shipping company Jadrolinija, the statement said. service linking the mainland with the island of Pag, the Government
Media and Public Relations Office said in a statement today.
Based on reports submitted by the Ministries of Maritime Affairs,
Transport and Communications; Tourism; and Interior Affairs, and
the Croatian Road Management, State Inspectorate and the Croatian
Tourism Board, and following an extensive debate on all
circumstances, the Government has established that the traffic
collapse was caused by bad weather conditions and failures for
which responsibility rests with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs,
Transport and Communications, Croatian Road Management and the
shipping company Jadrolinija, the statement said.
The Government has entrusted all competent ministries to, within
their scopes of jurisdiction and through authorised bodies of local
administration and self-government, take all necessary measures
with the aim of securing unimpeded traffic on all roads and toward
all islands until the end of the main tourist season, the statement
said.
