ZAGREB, July 27 (Hina) - At the moment, 330,143 tourists are vacationing in Croatia, which is 15.6 percent less than in the same period last year, and 34,357 tourists more than early last week. Out of the total number of tourists,
258,087 are foreigners, which is 18 percent less than the year before, the Croatian Tourist Association (HTZ) reported on Wednesday. About 72,000 domestic tourists were registered in Croatia's summer resorts, which is eight percent less than in 1998, and 14,077 more than last week. The northern Adriatic county of Istria is the most visited summer resort, namely 121,869 tourists chose Istria for their tourist destination, which is 18 percent less that last year. percent less. Zadar County had 38,879 tourists, which is 10.7
percent less, and Sibenik-Knin County had 17,399 guests, namely
10.3 percent less that last year.
Dubrovnik-Neretva is still the least visited county, with only
15,617 tourists, which is 27.1 percent less.
Lika-Senj County was visited by 5,715 tourists, namely 28.7 percent
less.
Over 44 percent foreign tourists, namely 114,743 chose summer
resorts in Istria County as their tourist destinations, which is 18
percent less that the year before.
