DRVAR, June 30 (Hina) - President of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Ivo Andric Luzanski, held talks in Drvar (northwest
Bosnia) with representatives of the Herzeg-Bosnian Canton,
representatives of the Serb people, headed by the municipal head
Mile Marceta, and Croat people headed by deputy municipal head
Ilija Sljivic, about the work of the executive and legislative
authorities and the return of Serbs in the Drvar municipality.
Present at the meeting were officials of the Organisation for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), UNHCR, Office of the
High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina and members of the
European Community Monitoring Mission.
Marceta and Sljivic were given the deadline by July 20 to harmonise
a draft municipal budget and forward it to the municipal council at
the next session, Luzanski said.
Marceta said 5.018 Serbs have returned to Drvar so far. As only 50
have been registered at the police administration, the Croat
representatives expressed dissatisfaction with the
uncontrollable return of Serbs.
The political and security situation in the municipality was
described as satisfactory.
Luzanski stressed the situation must be supervised "because of the
uncontrolled return of Serbs, so incidents which are becoming more
frequent, could be avoided".
He asked support of the international community in the
implementation of Annex 7 of the Dayton peace accords, pertaining
to the two-way return of refugees and displaced persons to the
Bosnian Federation and Bosnian Serb republic of Republika Srpska.
