ZAGREB, June 30 (Hina) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) was proclaimed a full member of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) at the ninth congress of that organisation which is being held in
Helsinki, the SSSH said in a statement on Wednesday. The SSSH is the only federation in Croatia which formally integrated with the European and world organisation. In October 1998, SSSH was granted an observer status. Its joining the ETUC was an exception, given that the ETUC does not allow any organisation from countries which are not members of European integration to join, the SSSH statement read. The ETUC gathers 65 national union federations from 28 countries, 14 European branch union federations, and six federations with an observer status, namely 59 million members.(hina) it
