ZAGREB, June 21 (Hina) - The annual assembly of Croatia's Paneuropean Union, which was held in eastern Croatian towns Osijek and Vukovar ended on Monday with the presentation of the Croatian translation of "Europe's Expansion to the
East", a book by Stephen Baier. Baier, who attended the presentation, said a poorly governed official Europe was trying to push Croatia into national isolation. The author also pointed out Croatia should emphasise its European orientation. According to Andjelko Milardovic, the editor of the Croatian edition, the notion of Europe's expansion to the east is based on the notion of globalisation. "In globalisation, Europe has to compete with America, China, and Japan," he said, assessing globalisation in Europe was obstructed by nationalism. Speaking about Baier's book, Milardovic said it reflects "Baier's belief in a multipolar instead of a bipolar world."
