ZAGREB, June 27 (Hina) - The Main Committee of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) and all party bodies on Saturday night ended
their session by adopting conclusions, which, among other things,
appoint a working group for drawing up a draft election programme
and the composition of the election headquarters.
The drafts are to be submitted to the party presidency until
September 3, 1999 at the latest. The working group is to suggest the
election programme and the composition of the election
headquarters, which will be determined at a session of the Main
Committee in September this year.
The draft election programme will have to stress the results of the
HDZ policy; provide clear and complete answers to all problems and
difficulties the Croatian citizens, society and state are faced
with; give a clear plan of the country's economic development, the
preservation of its internal political stability and the
strengthening of its international position.
The draft composition of the HDZ election headquarters should be
the expression of the party's centrist policy, which was the basis
of the party's historic results in the past ten years.
The Main Committee and all party bodies have requested from the
Government and all competent institutions to consistently
implement the law on the rights of Croatian soldiers and their
family members, and those who fail to implement will risk being
fired.
The session also adopted a proposal that all volunteers' and
soldiers' associations be given the name "Gojko Susak" after the
late defence minister.
